Chandigarh, July 7 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that on the occasion of 550th Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, a state level function will be organized in Sirsa in the first week of August.
On the invitation of the Chief Minister, a large number of Sikh Saints and great personalities met him at his residence, here today. On this occasion, detailed discussions were held to celebrate the Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in a grand and historic manner.
The Chief Minister said that last year, the Haryana Government had organized state-level function to celebrate the Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. He said that this time also, the 550thPrakash Utsav of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji is being celebrated. For this, a state level committee has been constituted through which a target has been set to organize several programs related to Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji across the state.
He said that Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji had a special attachment with Kurukshetra, therefore in his memory, a grand panorama and museum will be built, literature will be distributed and to protect the environment, saplings will be planted and resolve will be taken to save water. He said that state level function will be organized in Sirsa in the first week of August.
The Chief Minister was presented with a ‘shawl’ and a ‘siropa’ by the Sikh Saints. Others present on this occasion included MLA of Assandh Assembly Constituency, Mr. Bakhshish Singh Virk, besides the Head of Damdami Taksal, Saint Harnam Singh Dhumma, Chairman of the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, Sardar Govind Singh Longowal, Giani Singh Iqbal, Mahant Karmjit Singh, Joga Singh Karnal, Baba Dhunidas, Saint Darshan Singh Shastri and representatives of several religious organizations.
