Chandigarh, June 9 - Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that officers should work at field level to ensure that the benefits of public welfare schemes and various other types of services being run by the State Government should reach grassroots levels.

The Chief Minister said this while presiding over a meeting organized with the officers of District Administration in Ratia today.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister reviewed the arrangements made by the District Administration to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection in the district. He congratulated the officers and the District Administration for adopting an effective strategy for the containment of COVID-19.

The Chief Minister said that due to the lockdown, the leaders and officers were not able to go to the field, but now as the lockdown restrictions are lifted, the officers while adhering to the social distancing norms and following other necessary guidelines should go to the field and address the public grievances on a priority basis.

He said that Corona Virus has adversely affected employment, and earning capacity of poor people. He said that considerable relaxation has been given by the government to strengthen the economic situation. Better health, electricity, water, traffic and other basic facilities should be made available to the public, he said.

The Chief Minister also gave necessary guidelines to the health department and related departments to open drug de-addiction centers in Ratia. Besides this, he also directed the irrigation department to keep a close vigil on water theft.

The Chief Minister was apprised that so far 44 Corona cases have been reported in the district out of which 15 patients have recovered and gone home. The remaining patients are under treatment. A survey of 1.82 lakh houses has been conducted in the district to check the Corona infection and for this; control rooms and COVID centres have been set up in the district. A mobile van has also been deployed to make people aware and to provide help to them.

It was further informed that medical checkup of 302 persons coming from other countries was also done, out of which two were found positive. Besides this, 5500 workers engaged in farming and other works have been sent to their home states.
