Chandigarh, September 2- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that the present state government has carried out equal development in the state, without any bias.
The Chief Minister was addressing the people in villages of Bawani Khera, Tosham and Nalwa assembly constituencies of district Hisar during the Jan Ashirwad Yatra today. He said that the pump houses set up for lift irrigation project have been renovated at a cost of Rs 143 crore, for supplying water to the canals of South Haryana.
He said that in the last five years, the present state government has worked to change the system by removing corruption. He said that despite having an opposition party MLA in Tosham constituency, the state government has carried out similar development works as carried out in other areas.
The Chief Minister appealed to the people of Bawani Khera where is Paddy majorly grown, to conserve water for future generations and to sow other crops which require less water, unlike paddy crop. He said that the state government had set a target of 50,000 hectares area for sowing of maize, arhar and other crops in place of paddy in nine districts where paddy crop is majorly grown. He said, following his point, many farmers have sown other crops on 50,000 hectares area or above. He said that this would also improve the ground water level and save water.
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi has also launched a water conservation campaign throughout the country so that future generations do not have to face water crisis. Haryana has also implemented the programme of the Prime Minister in all districts and has encouraged people towards water conservation. The Chief Minister said that Haryana is a state of farmers, soldiers and sportspersons. In the last five years, we have done more than what we had promised for all these sections, he added.
