Chandigarh, March 16 - Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal said that the state government is very serious about any spread of novel corona virus (COVID-19) and there is no need to panic in the state. While showing his concern to tackle the virus he said that effective measures have been taken to prevent its spread. A provision of 6,500 beds will be arranged shortly and 1,300 isolated wards will be set up across the state to prevent any spread of the virus.
The Chief Minister, while interacting with media persons as inspecting isolated wards made on corona virus in Gurugram today, said that the virus is currently spread worldwide disease and the state is fully prepared for preventing it.
He said that no serious cases have been reported in the state so far and all the cases which have been came in private hospitals in Gurugram are of people with foreign travel history and have been kept under observation. He said that the symptoms of the virus are being seen more among those traveling abroad. He said that the suspected people will be kept under observation for 15 days after which they will be examined and will be discharged based on their report. He said that 46 such patients were kept at the ITBP campus and they have been discharged based on the report.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has imposed a ban on the gathering of more than 200 people to prevent the spread of the virus. He informed that all the schools in the state will remain closed till March 31, only the examinees will go. He said that there has been a ban on all the colleges, cinema halls, etc across the state. He called upon the people to maintain hygiene and wash their hands properly.
