Chandigarh, July 19 – Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal today asked Industries to train the workforce according to their needs and employ them in their units. This will help in providing employment to the unemployed youth of the state.

Mr Manohar Lal was interacting with the Industries Partners of Shri Vishwakarma Skill University (SVSU) at Gurugram today. He said that providing employment is a regular process and on an average about 2 lakh youth add every year who demand jobs. The government can provide 40,000 to 50,000 jobs in a year, so other rest of the job seekers are to be adjusted in Industries. He said that the state government has opened SVSU, which is first of its kind in the country, which help in upgrading the skills of the youth here. Now it is providing skill upgradation training in 31 courses.

He said that usually it is said that though the youth in Haryana is educated but they are not skilled as per the requirement of the industry. So, the Industries should come forward in providing them training as per their requirement and absorb them. Mr Manohar Lal was of the view that providing employment opportunities to the unemployed is equally important as unemployment brings frustration in the youth, which can divert them towards anti social activities. He added that state government has started ‘Saksham Portal’ where data of unemployed youth is uploaded and the industry should first give preference to the youth registered on that portal, so that a message goes that the registration on portal carries significance and all others who are left out also register themselves. The state government is incentivizing those industrial units set up in Zone C and D as per Industrial Policy of the state, who provide employment to the youth of Haryana and is paying Rs 3,000 per candidate for a period of 3 years.

He said that under the Saksham Scheme, the state government was earlier paying a sort of pocket money to the post graduates and later on graduates were enrolled. Now 10 plus 2 pass would also be enrolled under the scheme. The allowance is paid for 3 years. Mr Manohar Lal said that after the implementation of GST, the state only looks for job aspect from the industry.

He sought suggestions from the Industrialists present there and assured that their suggestions useful to promote employment to the youth here will be considered. He also told about the Haryana Enterprises Promotion Center (HEPC) stated for facilitating the industries and said that all NOCs, Consents and approvals concerning 17 departments were being given through single window system within 45 days, otherwise it will be considered deemed approval.

Mr Manohar Lal also honoured the industrialists for their support in improving the skills of the youth and proving them employment.

Earlier, the Additional Chief Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Mr. Devender Singh said that this dual system of education has also been started in Industrial Training Institutes where students learn and take hands on training in the industries. He also appealed the industries to make Haryana youth Industry ready and industry relevant’ who can be suitably placed in industry. The Vice-Chancellor, SVSU, Mr. Raj Nehru told about the activities of the university.
