- Chandigarh, November 29: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal today inspected the Government Senior Secondary School (Boys) for the purpose of expansion of adjoining old Civil Hospital centrally located in Gurugram.
- It is proposed to increase the capacity of old Civil Hospital to 500 beds, for which some part of the land belonging to the Government School is to be transferred from the Education Department to the Health Department.
- While visiting the school premises along with senior officials, the Chief Minister today flagged off the expansion of Civil Hospital. Besides higher officials of the district administration, senior officials of the Education and Health Department were also present.
- District Education Officer, Capt. Indu Bokan apprised that the classes being taken in the school building that is proposed to be demolished will be taken in the Government school at Sukharali. She also informed that according to the norms of metropolitan cities like Gurugram, enough space will be there in the school to set up classes by building a multi-story building even after transferring part of land to the Health Department.
- On this occasion, Civil Surgeon, Dr. Virendra Yadav said that the work of shifting Civil Surgeon Office in the old Civil Hospital has also been started so that the entire place can be made available to the Public Works Department for construction of the new hospital building. Dr. Yadav said that after demolishing the old building, the land of the school will be transferred to the hospital so that a modern and well equipped Civil Hospital building having a capacity of 500 beds will be made by PWD (Buildings & Roads).
- Deputy Commissioner Gurugram, Mr. Amit Khatri, Commissioner of Police, Mr. KK Rao and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
