Chandigarh, July 30- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal welcomed the decision of granting approval for the National Education Policy-2020 by the Union Cabinet.
He said that in view of the changing global scenario, the new policy will be effective in school, higher education and vocational education.
Reacting to the new Education Policy, the Chief Minister said that an unprecedented collaborative, comprehensive and highly participatory consultation process was initiated five years ago to formulate the Education Policy. He said that around 2 lakh suggestions received from the 2.5 lakh Gram Panchayats across the nation, Urban Local Bodies and districts have been incorporated in this Policy, which is the main highlight of the Policy. He said that the suggestions of all the stakeholders and academicians have also been included.
The Chief Minister said that as per the new Education Policy education imparted will be behaviour-based rather than being profit-based. It will match international standards while at the same time it will be progressive and simplified. The Chief Minister has expressed the hope that the Haryana Education Department will follow this Policy in letter and spirit and this will ensure all round development of the students.
