Chandigarh, August 3: As many as 210 beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, (Urban) today became the proud owner of a new house, after Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal today digitally handed over the keys and allotment letters to them in a programme held here today.
Member Parliament, Mr. Nayab Singh Saini, Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Mrs. Kamlesh Dhanda, MLA Kurukshetra, Mr. Subhash Sudha and MLA Kaithal, Mr. Leela Ram also attended the programme from Kaithal and Kurukshetra districts and later physically distributed the keys to the eligible beneficiaries on behalf of the Chief Minister.
The beneficiaries of both the Kurukshetra and Kaithal district thanked the Chief Minister for fulfilling their dreams of owning their own house, especially on the pious occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
While congratulating 105 beneficiaries each from both Kurukshetra and Kaithal districts, Mr. Manohar Lal said that having a permanent house is everyone’s dream and keeping this in mind, both Centre and State Government are dedicatedly working towards providing permanent house to every family by 2022.
“I am happy that about 3,61,365 applications were received under the PMAY-U from all the Municipalities, of which survey of maximum applications has been done. Construction of most of the houses is in progress,” he said.
The Chief Minister further shared that in Kurukshetra and Kaithal district about 2802 and 4880 beneficiaries have been identified respectively. Taking further the vision of Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi of providing housing facility to all by 2022, the State Government is leaving no stones unturned to provide roof to every family, he said.
Emphasizing on the significance of the PMAY-U scheme which is aimed at empowerment of poor, Mr. Manohar Lal said that having own house makes life comfortable. Therefore while working with the feeling of Antyodaya, along with ensuring ‘Roti, Kapda Aur Makaan’, dedicated efforts are being made for ‘Siksha, Swasthya, Samman’. Besides this, efforts are being made to ensure that benefits of the welfare schemes should reach the last person in line.” The Chief Minister said that he hoped that the State Government will achieve the target of providing a permanent house to every family by 2022.
Thanking the Chief Minister for handing over the keys to the beneficiaries on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Mrs. Kamlesh Dhanda said that many schemes are being run by the government for the upliftment of poor, including health and education.
Echoing the same sentiments, Member Parliament, Mr. Nayab Singh Saini and MLA, Mr. Subhash Sudha said that Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi and Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal are dedicatedly working towards fulfilling the dream of the poor of owning their own house. Every eligible beneficiary will be given the benefit of this scheme, they said.
Deputy Commissioner Kaithal, Mr. Sujan Singh and Additional Deputy Commissioner Kurukshetra, Ms. Veena Hooda and other dignitaries were present on this occasion.
