Chandigarh, June 25 – Haryana government has decided to include five castes – 1. Jogi, Jangam, Jogi Nath, 2. Maniar, 3. Bhat, 4. Rahabari and 5. Madari (Hindu) in the list of Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes in the State.

A decision to this effect was taken in the meeting of State Cabinet held under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal here today.

Certain synonyms were added in the list of Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes with the original names so that the persons belonging to these castes could be given benefit of the schemes implemented by the Government. These castes had been demanding to be included in the list of DNTs, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes, which was today approved by the Council of Ministers. Before this, there were 24 castes in the State list of DNTs, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic tribes, which has now increased to 29.

Chandigarh, June 25 - Haryana Cabinet which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal here today, approved the proposal for constituting two separate bodies that is Municipal Corporation, Ambala City with inclusion of 12 adjoining villages and Municipal Council, Ambala Sadar with exclusion of Sadar Zone from Municipal Corporation, Ambala.

The 12 villages which have been included in the limits of Municipal Corporation, Ambala City, included Dangdehri, Manakpur, Lohgarh, Dadiana, Devi Nagar, Nijampur, Ghel Kalan, Ghel Khurd, Kanwala, Kanwali, Kalu Majra and Liharsa.

Similarly, the area of Ambala Sadar Zone has been excluded from the limits of existing Municipal Corporation, Ambala and such area will be declared as separate Municipal Council that is Ambala Sadar. Ambala Sadar is situated at a distance of around 10 to 12 kms from the main Municipal Corporation office at Ambala City. The Municipal Commissioner of the Corporation and all the branch heads have their offices in the main office. Apart from this, most of the villages of Ambala Sadar Zone area are situated further away from the main office. For most of their municipal works and redressal of grievances, the people of Ambala Sadar area have to visit Corporation office located at Ambala City.

After the inclusion of these villages and exclusion of area of Ambala Sadar Zone from the limits of Municipal Corporation, Ambala, the required population of 3 lakh is completed (as provided in the proviso of section 3(2) of the Haryana Municipal Corporation Act, 1994)
