Chandigarh, June 25- Haryana Cabinet which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal here today, approved the proposal to de-notify the land acquired for construction of Dadupur Nalvi Irrigation Scheme.
As the scheme has become unfruitful and totally unviable, the state government earlier de-notified 824.71 acres of land vide notification dated August 3,2018, after approval by cabinet on 27.09.2017. The government has further de-notified 5.39225 acres of land vide notification dated December 11,2018 by offering alternative land to the land owner farmers as per the provisions of the proviso attached to section 101A of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Haryana Amendment) Act,2017, the approval of which has now been placed before the cabinet alongwith the proposal regarding modalities of return of land to the beneficiaries and in turn compensation to be paid by them.
It has been decided under the provisions of clause 13 of the notification dated September 14, 2018 to inform the original land owners and their legal heirs about the decision of the government to return the aforesaid land. The original owners or their legal heirs will return the compensation excluding solatium paid to them alongwith simple interest at the rate of 9 per cent per annum from the date of receipt of compensation by them till the date of return of compensation by depositing the same with Land Acquisition Officer, Ambala. The possession of land will be delivered only after the compensation amount is returned and it will be responsibility of the Superintending Engineer, Irrigation and Land Acquisition Officer concerned to ensure delivery of possession of land within 3 months of the return of compensation alongwith interest.
The government has also decided to waive even the simple interest for the landowner farmers who do not claim compensation for usage or damages of any kind like usage by government after acquisition and damages for restoration of land. However, those landowners who seek compensation for usage and damages, will have to pay simple interest at the rate of 9 per cent per annum. While submitting their claims, the Land Acquisition Officer, Ambala, the landowners will indicate their choice as to whether they will make payment of interest and claim compensation for usage of damages or not.
Chandigarh June 25- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal today unveiled the newly established and beautified form of National Flag in the premises of Main Secretariat, Sector-1, here. After hoisting the flag, the band of Haryana Police played the National Anthem.
While interacting with media persons after hoisting the flag, the Chief Minister said that the National Flag of any country is a symbol of honour and dignity of that country and it also shows the country's independence and self respect. This is the reason, citizens of any country highly respects their national flag. Similarly, the feelings of 125 crore people of India are connected to our National Flag 'Tricolour’, he added.
He said that the colors in our Tricolour also have special significance. The saffron at the top symbolizes sacrifice, this colour shows courage and selfless feelings towards the nation. It is also considered as a symbol of unity. The white colour in the middle of the flag is considered a symbol of peace and honesty. It also represents cleanliness and knowledge. Green colour on the bottom half of the flag represents faith, fertility, prosperity and progress.
He said that the newly established and beautified form of National Flag of 80 feet high and 24 feet x 16 feet in size, is of special significance in both the civil secretariats of Haryana and Punjab. This flag which is symbol of national pride, would be changed in every six months so that its beauty remains.
Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr O.P. Dhankar, Women and Child Development Minister, Mrs Kavita Jain, Transport Minister, Mr Krishan Lal Panwar, Minister of State for Cooperation, Mr. Manish Kumar Grover, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Mr Krishan Kumar Bedi, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister, Mr Karan Dev Kamboj, Minister of State for Public Health Engineering, Dr. Banwari Lal, Chief Secretary, Mr. D.S. Dhesi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr Rajesh Khullar, Haryana Director General of Police, Mr Manoj Yadav and several senior officers and employees were also present on the occasion.
