Chandigarh, July 3 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has hailed the decision of Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs to increase the minimum support price of kharif crops of 2019-20 and said that it shows that the government is pro farmers and their interest is one of its top priorities.

The decision was taken in the Cabinet Committee meeting on Economic Affairs held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi in New Delhi today.

Responding to the decision of the Cabinet Committee, the Chief Minister said that this decision would fulfill the goal of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to double the income of the farmers by the year 2022. He said that it would benefit farmers of Haryana who cultivate bajra, cotton, paddy, sunflower, maize and arhar crops, which are the main kharif crops in the state.

He said that Minimum Support Price of bajra would be increased by Rs 50 per quintal, paddy by Rs 65 per quintal, cotton by Rs. 100 to Rs. 105 per quintal, sunflower by Rs. 262 per quintal, maize by Rs. 60 per quintal, arhar by Rs. 125 per quintal and moong by Rs. 75 per quintal.
