Chandigarh, July 15– Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that the SYL is the lifeline of the state and Haryana will have its rightful share of water.
The Chief Minister was speaking in a function organized in Sonipat late evening yesterday.
He said that in order to meet the shortage of water in the state, new dam projects like Kishau and Lakhwar have been started which would fulfil about 47 per cent of the water requirement.
He said that he is trying to take Haryana towards the forefront of the country and for this, work is being done in a planned manner. All types of data is being collected of all the families in the state. In the coming time, people will not have to visit the authorities, but on the basis of the statistics, the officials will visit houses of people and fulfil the needs of the people. The Center and the State Government are taking all steps to provide social security to the people so that every person and every family will be happy, he added.
Mr. Manohar Lal said that new dimensions of development have been established in the state. Through the Ujjwala scheme, women have been provided LPG connections and today Haryana is completely kerosene free. Record compensation has been awarded to the farmers. The best treatment facility has been made available to people through Ayushman Yojana.
He has urged the farmers to cultivate other crops rather than paddy for water conservation. Giving information about the 'Meri Fasal, Mera Byora' scheme, he said that farmers should get themselves registered on the portal. As many as 25 lakh farmers have so far registered at the portal, he added.
