Chandigarh, July 21 – Haryana Government has been honoured once again for its achievement and this honour was given to the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal at his residence here today.

The Kurukshetra Development Board (KDB), running under the State Government, has been awarded the certificate by World Book of Records (WBR), London for organizing the event of simultaneous recital of Geeta Shloka Path (Ashtadash Shloki) for 6 minutes from 12.00 p.m. to 12.06 p.m. by 18,000 students on December 18, 2018 on the occasion of International Geeta Mahotsav. This award was received by the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal today in the presence of Chairman of KDB, Mr. Madan Mohan Chhabra.

On this occasion, Mr Manohar Lal said that the International Geeta Festival will be held this year in the United Kingdom from August 9 to 11. He said that even in Canada, the Indians will celebrate the International Geeta Festival, for which Haryana Government will provide full cooperation. The Chief Minister said that recently, the International Geeta Festival was also celebrated in Mauritius. He said that Swami Gyananand ji Maharaj had said that the International Geeta Festival should be celebrated globally and for this, Haryana Government is making all out efforts to ensure that the International Geeta Mahotsav would be organized across the world.

He said that a temple of Bharat Mata will be built on 5 acres of area in Kurukshetra. He said that the light and sound system installed in Jyotisar will be inaugurated in the month of August. The Chief Minister said that for organizing the aarti on Brahmasarovar, the devotees will have to pay for the slip as a ‘Yajmaan’ so that they could get their activities done. On this occasion, the Chief Minister himself got the slip by paying Rs 5,100.

On this occasion, he also launched website and mobile app of 48 Kos. This mobile app has detailed information of 134 pilgrimages of Kaithal, Kurukshetra, Jind and Karnal. Apart from this, it also has information of activities of the International Geeta Mahotsav and Kurukshetra Development Board, along with the information of local tourism and pilgrimages. Through the app, pilgrims will be able to see real-time or virtual routes of pilgrimage places.

Others present on the occasion included MLA, Mr. Subhash Sudha, Chairman, Kurukshetra Development Board, Mr. Madan Mohan Chhabra, Deputy Commissioner, Kurukshetra, Mr. S.S. Phulia, Chief Executive Officer of KDB, Mr. Sanyam Garg and Members, Mr. Upendra and Mr. Vijay along with Mr. Sandeep, Mr. Ravi Kant, Mr. Naresh Solanki and Mr. Sanjay Adaspurkar from World Book of Records.

It is worth mentioning here that WBR, UK is a globally authorized and certified body for recognition, verification and scrutiny of setting or breaking of world records as well as honours those who are excelling in their respective fields.
