Chandigarh, July 23 – Sports competitions will be organized by Haryana Public Health Engineering Department for giving encouragement and a feeling of belongingness to its employees. Apart from this, a proposal will be sent for the consideration of government for creation of Public Health Residential Colony for the staff of the Department at the district level.

This information was given in a meeting of various employees' organizations and unions held with Minister of State for Public Health Engineering, Dr. Banwari Lal, here today. After the meeting, the PWD Vibhag Bachao Sangharsh Samiti announced to take back the proposed agitation on the residence of Dr. Banwari Lal in Bawal on August 4.

On the demand of making timely payment to contractual employees, the Minister said that if the officer concerned confirms the work of the employee, his salary will be released. Similarly, on the demand of EPF and ESI of term appointee and contract employees, the Minister said that if any officer exercises negligence in this regard, action will be taken against him.

Regarding the demand related to salary of employees who are on deputation in different corporations, Dr. Banwari Lal said that recently in the meeting with various employees union with the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, it was decided that the wages of such employees will be given by the Public Health Engineering Department. Apart from this, from September, option will be sought from those employees who want to go on deputation to local bodies and orders will be issued accordingly. He said that such contractual employees, who are working in the Department continuously, will not be removed.

On the demand to give minimum wages through bank accounts, he directed the officers to clarify the different terms and conditions during the tenders that the contractor would pay the fixed salary of any employee on time.

The employees' unions also raised the demand that the orders sent by the headquarters at the regional level are not followed on which the Minister issued strict directions to the concerned authorities that if anyone does not comply with the orders, action should be taken against them.

The Minister directed to prepare proposals to provide risk allowance to employees who are engaged in various risky jobs. Apart from this, the minister gave various directions to the officials on the demand related to uniform allowance to drivers, financial powers to the superintendents and revival of the post of Deputy Superintendent at the circle level.

During the meeting, the Unions raised various demands regarding promoting the class four technical staff to the post of clerk and creation of posts in accordance with the rules on which the Minister assured them that the proposals in this regard would be prepared and would be send for the consideration of the government.

Those present in the meeting included office bearers of Haryana PWD Public Health Clerical Association, Haryana Government PWD Mechanical Workers Union, PWD Vibhag Bachao Sangharsh-Samiti, Haryana and other organizations.
