Chandigarh August 22: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that he has served the people of the State with utmost honesty and dedication during the last about five years. He not only delegated the power for clearing files related to Change of Land Use (CLU) to Director of the Department which earlier used to be vested with the Chief Ministers but also ensure transparency in the recruitment to government jobs.
Mr Manohar Lal was addressing the people of Indri, Nilokheri, Karnal and Gharaunda Assembly Constituency during his ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’ today.
While expressing his gratitude to the people for giving him blessings amidst beating drums and showering flower petals, the Chief Minister said that during his last about five years tenure, he has brought about a positive change in the system. Quoting example in support of his claim, he said that we have put an end to large scale irregularities in the process of issuing CLUs in the State which has become a source of corruption in the previous governments.
He said that during the previous governments, people used to make rounds of government offices and take help of middlemen for jobs, transfers and even for preparing yellow cards. We have completelyeliminated this practice and now people could get the benefit of various services online on this basis of their eligibility. He said that yesterday only, about 57,000 BPL cards have been distributed to the beneficiaries in all 90 assembly constituencies in the State. These beneficiaries have been added to the BPL list after a long span of 11 years, he added. He said that during the previous government, BPL cards of well-off families having all facilities were prepared but we have now started the process under which BPL cards of only eligible beneficiaries would be prepared.
The Chief Minister appealed to the people that the way more than one crore people of the country gave up their subsidy on LPG gas cylinders, on the appeal of the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi and provided relief to lakhs of women under the Ujjawala scheme, in the same way, if any BPL family becomes financially sound, then it should also withdraw taking benefit under the scheme and remove its name from the BPL list.
He said that similarly, under Mukhyamantri Parivar Samridhi Yojana, financial assistance of Rs 6,000 would be given to families whose annual income family income is up to Rs 1.80 lakh. For this, the state government is implementing the process of making family identity cards.
The Chief Minister said that after giving educated Panchayats, we have given more powers to Panchayati Raj Institutions. The budget of Zila Parishad, which was earlier Rs one crore yearly, has been increased to Rs 25 crores. Similarly, financial powers of Panchayat Samiti and Panchayats have also been increased.
While addressing the people at Martyr, Udham Singh Chowk in Indri assembly constituency, the Chief Minister said that in the last five years, development works of about Rs 1,300 crore have been carried out in Indri assembly constituency, of Rs 1,000 crore in Nilokheri, over Rs 1,000 crore in Karnal, about Rs 1,000 crores in Gharaunda. Development works of crores of rupees have been carried out in Assandh also. During the Yatra, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the 82-feet-long National flag installed by Aggrawal Sabha at Aggrasen Chowk of Karnal.
Those present in the yatra included MP, Mr Sanjay Bhatia, Urban Local Bodies Minister, Mrs Kavita Jain, Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Mr Karan Dev Kamboj, and other dignitaries.
