Chandigarh August 27: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that during the second tenure of State Government, his main focus would be on Security, Health and Education. Apart from this, special emphasis would be given on higher education of girls.
Mr Manohar Lal was addressing the people of Badli Assembly Constituency during the Jan Ashirwad Yatra today.
He said that one women college is being opened within a radius of every 20 kilometers. In the same series, 31 new women colleges have been set up whereas in last 48 years of State’s inception, only 31 women colleges were established. He said that now only nine places have left in the State where these colleges are to be set up and this would be done on priority basis in the next tenure.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister accepted all the demands raised by Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Mr O.P Dhankar for Badli assembly constituency. These included new bus stand in Badli, hospital, sewerage system and according Badli the status of Municipal Committee.
While describing Badli the land of sports person and soldiers, he said that this land has given various brave soldiers and outstanding sports person to the State and the country. He said that vyamshalas are being set up in the villages. Apart from this, sports nurseries are being opened in schools. The Chief Minister also performed bhoomi pujan of the sports stadium to be constructed in village Selana on 18 acres of land. He said that sports person of the State have brought laurels to the State and Country by winning medals in national and international events.
He said that Sports University has been set up at Rai in Sonipat where besides education; emphasis would be given on sports knowledge, science and research. He said that aim of the State Government is to develop Haryana as sports hub adding that today not only the boys but girls also are overwhelming participating in the sports.
The Chief Minister said that Badli assembly segment is not behind any other assembly constituency in the State in terms of development as works worth more than thousand crores of rupees has been undertaken here during the last about five years. The National Cancer Institute has been set up in Badhsa and its first phase has been made operational. The second phase of the institute would also be completed soon. He said that an amount of Rs 2000 crore has been incurred on it. A direct road from Badhsa to Delhi Airport is being constructed which would connect to Dwarka Expressway, he added.
