Chandigarh, September 15- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that likewise Assam, the National Register of Citizens (NRC) would also be implemented in Haryana. Besides this, constitution of a Law Commission is also being considered in the state and a separate voluntary department would also be set up to take the services of intellectuals of the society.
The Chief Minister was addressing the people on the last day of the state-level Maha Jan Sampark Abhiyan organised to inform the people about works done by the state government in the last five years, Panchkula today.
In reply to a question, the Chief Minister said that the party is running a five-day Maha Jan Sampark Abhiyan at national level, in the same sequence today, he met with the dignitaries in Panchkula. Apart from former chairman, Haryana State Human Rights Commission, Justice (Retd) HS Bhalla, he also met former Admiral Mr J.S. Lamba, Sector-6, MCD and Lt. Gen. (retired), Baljit Singh Jaiswal at Amaravati Enclave.
The Chief Minister said that the aim of such campaign is to reach out to people about the work done by the present state government during the last five years. He said that they are also taking suggestions of enlightened people about what to do in the coming time. Good suggestions could also be included in our resolution letter, he added.
Mr Manohar Lal said that social audit system would be implemented so that the audit of development works could be done by the intellectuals people of the society, in which ex-servicemen, teachers, engineers or others having special achievement would be included. For this, in the coming time a separate voluntary department would also be formed.
In response to a question, the Chief Minister said that the State Government is working on a fast pace on family identity card and its data would also be used in the National Register of Citizens (NRC). He also appreciated the efforts of Justice (retd), H.S. Bhalla that even after retirement, he is going on a tour of Assam to study NRC data. He said that in a way, it would also be better for the government as Mr. Bhalla's services would be useful for the NRC to be established in the state.
He said that likewise, Article 370 and Section 35A had been a hindrance in the creation of a united India for almost 70 and 72 years, which has been amended by Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister, Mr Amit Shah in the second term of the government. And, it is being praised all over India. Lt. Gen. (retd) B. S. Jaiswal suggested to the Chief Minister that Article 51 of the Constitution gives an explanation of what the duty of citizens should be towards the country, but no government is paying attention to it. On this, the Chief Minister said that the Constitution gives us fundamental rights as well as information about our duty towards the country. Likewise Rights, the citizens should be sensitive to their duties.
He said that for the last five years, he has worked with honesty and in a transparent manner by treating 2.5 crore population of the state as his family. In this link, he made contact with people through Jan Ashirwad Yatra in all 90 assemblies recently and in which, Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi himself addressed the people on September 8 from Rohtak.
The intellectuals, with whom the Chief Minister met praising the Chief Minister, said that he has clean image and such personality is very rarely seen in politics.
Others accompanied the Chief Minister included MLAs, Mr Gian Chand Gupta and Mrs. Latika Sharma, Deputy Commissioner, Mr Mukesh Kumar Ahuja, Commissioner of Police, Mr Kamaldeep Goel and other dignitaries.
