Chandigarh, November 7 – Haryana Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) has imposed a penalty of Rs 25 lakh on the Eco Green Energy Private Limited for non-compliance of the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016 for burning of garbage and in gross violation of NGT orders.

Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal shared this while interacting with the media persons, during his inspection to the dumping ground located at the old Jail Chowk in Gurugram, today.

He said that earlier also, the State Pollution Control Board had issued notices to the company and this time the company has been asked to pay a fine amount of Rs 25 lakh within 7 days.

Interacting with the media persons, the Chief Minister said that Gurugram is the Icon City of the State and several arrangements has been made to ensure cleanliness in the city and under which the company was hired to ensure door to door garbage collection, lifting of garbage on daily basis from the dumping ground, scientific segregation, collection, transportation, maintenance of transfer station and processing and disposal of solid water management but it failed to perform its duties and therefore from last several days, he had been receiving continuous complaints about the management of the cleanliness system.

The Chief Minister further informed that from a long time he was receiving complaint that the company hired for picking the garbage from the dumping ground was not picking the garbage on daily basis, due to which people were suffering. He said that over the issue, the company has been directed to lift the garbage on daily basis and if the, company fails to ensure proper cleaning every day.

He said that the Municipal Corporation has also been directed to ensure the cleanliness work and lifting of garbage from the ground is done on regular basis. Apart from this, a separate committee should be formed for this. This committee will inspect the dumping point and ensure that the garbage is collected from the dumping points of the district at least once a day.

He said that this committee will also ensure the company should lift the waste from the dumping ground.
