Chandigarh November 25: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that an amount of Rs 9734.70 lakh has been sanctioned by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India under Krishana Circuit Phase I for the Development of Tourism Infrastructure at places related to Mahabharat in Kurukshetra. Apart from this, 12 sites have been submitted for approval under Swadesh Darshan Scheme with an estimated project cost of Rs 9706 lakhs.
Mr Manohar Lal was addressing a press conference regarding the International Gita Mahotsav-2019 being organized in Kurukshetra from November 23 to December 10, 2019. Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs Mr Sandeep Singh was also present on this occasion.
The Chief Minister said that an amount of Rs 9734.70 lakh has been sanctioned by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India under Krishana Circuit Phase I for the development of Braham Sarover, Jyotisar, Narkatari, Sanhit Sarover, city infrastructure and CCTV, Wi-Fi and Security System.
He said that an amount of Rs 3831 lakh has been sanctioned for the development of Braham Sarover. The major components included are multipurpose tourist information centre, war formation, parking, lighting, toilet blocks, façade work, flooring work, ladies bathing ghat, Mural painting and Multimedia laser show. The work has been completed except multimedia laser show. This work is being executed by Indian Tourism Development Corporation, Delhi and work is likely to be awarded in January, 2020.
The Chief Minister said that an amount of Rs Rs 3233.88 lakh has been sanctioned for development of Jyotisar. The major components are entrance gate, Mahabharat theme buildings, clockroom, X-ray room, cafeteria, toilets, parkingand lighting etc. The work is in progress and 40 per cent work has been completed. Additional funds of Rs 1661 lakhs has been sanctioned by State Government for Jyotisar keeping in view the Historic importance of the site. The work for Bronze Metal Virat Swaroop of Lord Krishna 50 feet high has been awarded to the renowned sculpturist Ram Sutar Art creation for an amount of Rs.9.49Crore and the work is in progress. For artifacts and thematic interior work of Jyotisar, Expression of Interest has been floated for Theme consultant, which will be opened on December 4, 2019.The cost of this would be around Rs 70 Crore.
He said that an of Rs 212.96 Lakh has been sanctioned for the development of Narkatari. The major components are Shopping area, multipurpose Hall, parking and stone railing with Vishnu Sehestranaam names inscripted on it. The work has been completed. Similarly, an amount of Rs 545.59 lakh has been sanctioned for the development of Sanhit Sarover. The major components are Tourist Facilitation Centre, Parking, lighting, Pathways and shed etc. The work has been completed. For development of city infrastructure, an amount of Rs 491.22 lakh has been sanctioned. The major components are Public Toilets, Tourist Information centre and lighting etc. The work is almost completed. He said that the tendering work is in process for the installation of CCTV, Wi-Fi and Security System. Out of the total amount of Rs 7787.58 lakh received, Rs 5538 Lakh has been spent.
The Chief Minister said that the estimated Project cost of Development of Krishna Circuit Phase II, Haryana under Swadesh Darshan Scheme is Rs 9706 lakh. He said that 12 sites was submitted for approval in October, 2019 with an Estimated project Cost of Rs 9706 lakhs. The sites included Amin in district Kurukshetra with an estimated cost of Rs 923.50 lakh, Pehowa in district Kurukshetra with an estimated cost of Rs 1331.55 lakh, Gita Gyan Sansthanam in district Kurukshetra with an estimated cost of Rs 239.03 lakh, Jyotisar for Services in district Kurukshetra with an estimated cost of Rs 1483.50 lakh, Ashtha Koshi Parikrama in district Kurukshetra with an estimated cost of Rs 598 lakh, Vyas Sthali in district Karnal at an estimated cost of Rs 195.42 lakh, FalguTirath-Faral in district Kaithal at an estimated cost of Rs 615.96 lakh, RamhradTirath-Ramrai in district Jind at an estimated cost of Rs 924.93 lakh, SomTirath-Pindora in district Jind at an estimated cost of Rs 623.87 lakh, SarpadamanTirath, Safidon in district Jind at an estimated cost of Rs 436.6 lakh, Pandav Mandir in district Nuh at a cost of Rs 195.63 and Tarntauk Yaksha,Seenk in district Panipat at an estimated cost of Rs 246.50 lakh.
