Chandigarh, December 1 - Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal said that people living in India and abroad are celebrating International Gita Mahotsav 2019 with great enthusiasm. He said that International Gita Mahotsav will be held in Australia from March 20 to 22.

The Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal was addressing the gathering in a programme organized at Red Fort Ground in New Delhi today. On the occasion, Haryana Governor, Mr Satyadeo Narain Arya, Lok Sabha, Speaker Mr. Om Birla, Union Minister for Women and Child Development Mrs. Smriti Zubin Irani, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, Yoga Gurus, Baba Ramdev and Morari Bapu conveyed their messages at Geeta Prerna Mahotsav, 2019.

Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal and Geeta Manishi Swami Mr. Gyananand Ji Maharaj inaugurated the Geeta Prerna Mahotsav, held at the Red Fort Ground, today.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the State Government is working to develop Kurukshetra into a holy magnificent city at the international level.

He said that the pilgrimage sites of Mahabharata located in the ancient region of 48 kos of Dharmakshetra Kurukshetra are being developed in a grand manner. He said that work is also being going on to renovate the ancient religious sites located on the origin and flow route of the ancient Saraswati River.

He said that in collaboration with the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, work is also being done to drain the water from the ground water source of the ancient Saraswati River to the flow path of the Saraswati River on the ground again. The Chief Minister said that International Gita Mahotsav was also held in Mauritius and United Kingdom.

The Chief Minister said that a research center is being set up in Kurukshetra by Global Inspiration and Enlightenment Organization of Bhagwad Gita(GIEO and GITA), New Delhi. He said that religious centers are being set up in Kurukshetra by various religious institutions. He said that one Bharat Mata Temple will also be built in five acres of land in Kurukshetra. He said that facilities are also being expanded in Kurukshetra in view of the increasing number of devotees on the occasion of solar eclipse and on other religious occasions.

In his address, Lok Sabha Speaker Mr. Om Birla praised the work being done by Swami Shri Gyananand Ji Maharaj for spreading the teachings of Bhagwad Gita and said that Bhagwad Gita is a world heritage and Gita Darshan will always remain pertinent he said that the knowledge of Srimad Bhagwad Gita paves the way for normal human life. He said that everyone should follow the teaching of Bhagwad Gita in their lives .

In her address Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Mrs. Smriti Zubin Irani said that the knowledge and speech of saints and scholars always provides the best inspiration. The Union Minister called upon for service-support towards controlling the problem of malnutrition among pregnant mothers and children.

Sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak, Mr. Mohan Bhagwat said that the sacred Bhagwad Gita is our heritage and efforts should be made towards expanding its teachings in the world. Gita Manishi Swami Shri Gyananand Ji Maharaj while described the holy Gita as the divine inspiration for humanity and the practical identity of each field and its knowledge is like Sanjeevani for young generations.

Meanwhile, at the Gita Prerna Mahotsav, 2019, Divyang students recited 18 verses compiled from 18 chapters of Bhagwad Gita. Muslim students presented Urdu translation of 18 verses compiled from 18 chapters of Bhagwad Gita. A large number of Indians from various countries also participated in Gita Prerna Mahotsav, 2019.
