Chandigarh, December 30- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal inaugurated a two-storey Rain Basera(Night Shelter) for homeless in Prem Nagar, Karnal. The night shelters were inaugurated on Sunday late night.
The night shelter has been equipped with modern amenities and is made by the Karnal Municipal Corporation. The night shelter has been set up at a cost of Rs. 1.12 crore.
After the inauguration, the Chief Minister thanked the officers of Municipal Corporation for the construction of the night shelters and said that the city should ensure that no one has to sleep in open in the chilly weather.
He directed the Municipal Corporation officers that as per the requirement such night shelters should also be set up in other parts of the city too. He further directed the officers to ensure cleanliness outside the night shelters.
Meanwhile, the night shelter has a provision for the accommodation of 85 people. Apart from this the two-storey night shelter also includes other facilities including seven dormitories, council room, caretaker room, kitchen, store, staircase, lobby, toilet facilities and solar power system in bathroom, mineral water RO system, geyser for heating water, water pump, fire fighting equipment, wardrobe, two CCTVs cameras, a LED.
While other modern facilities like screens and battery inverters have been provided in the night shelter. In the night shelter, three dormitories have been built on the ground floor and four on the first floor.
