Chandigarh, December 29: Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal, inaugurated Atal Kisan Mazdoor canteen in New Anaj Mandi, Karnal, today.

The canteen has been constructed by Marketing Board at a cost of Rs 4 lakh. The canteen is very pocket-friendly as people will get a wholesome diet from the canteen at a meager price of Rs. 10. The food will include four rotis, pulses, vegetables and rice.

The canteen will be open from 11 am to 3 pm. On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that this scheme launched for laborers and farmers will be very effective as it will provide nutritious food to the laborers at an affordable rate. He said that a canteen for sugar mill workers will also be started soon. He said that the marketing board will start the canteen at 25 locations.

The canteen has been started for workers, farmers and traders at five places including Fatehabad, Panchkula, Bhiwani, and Nuh from today.

Addressing the program, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, Mr. J.P. Dalal said that the idea of providing affordable food to people has benefitted the layman. He said that the government has benefited the people of the state by taking this pro-people decision. He requested the people of Karnal that 300 people would get food every day in this canteen. He said that people should have food from the canteen and give valuable feedback.

Additional Chief Secretary of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Sanjeev Kaushal said that the government has implemented many policies and programs for the benefit of farmers. He said that the work of expanding the international fruit and vegetable market to be made in Gannaur will start soon
