Chandigarh, December 29: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of developmental works worth Rs 14 crore and 87 lakh today in Karnal. He also inaugurated the 14-feet tall bronze statue of former Prime Minister Mr. (late) Atal Bihari Vajpayee which has been built at the plush Atal Park in the city.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the newly built BDPO office building of Kunjpura at a cost of Rs 1,98,80,000.

He also unveiled the bronze statue of former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna, Mr. (late) Atal Bihari Vajpayee which was built at a cost of Rs 56 lakhs.

Among other projects was the construction work of Western Yamuna Canal Bridge on Karnal-Kaithal Road at a cost of Rs 7,9,28,000.

The strengthening of roads from Dachar to Ichhanpur at a cost of Rs 3 crore 13 lakh. The chief minister inaugurated the Urban Primary Health Center constructed in Ram Nagar area at a cost of Rs 44 lakh. Also, the foundation stone of road to be built at a cost of Rs 55 lakh 39 thousand from Indri Road to Karna in the state.

HUDA Administrator Mahavir Kaushik presented a small statue of Atal Bihari Vajpayee to Chief Minister and MP Sanjay Bhatia. Similarly, the craftsmen Naresh Kumar and VP Verma, who built the statue former prime minister in the park also presented a copy of the statue to the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister also released two books by Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar written by Dr. Pritam.

Speaking on the occasion, MP Sanjay Bhatia said that the unveiling of the statue of former Prime Minister (late) Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the Atal Park is a day of pride for all of us.

Mayor Ms. Renu Bala Gupta welcomed the Chief Minister. She said that along with the development work in Karnal in the last five years, there has also been beautification of the city.

The program was attended by Haryana Urban Development Authority Chief Administrator Mr. Pankaj Yadav, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Vinay Pratap Singh, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr. Nishant Kumar Yadav, CEO of Smart City Project Mr. Rajiv Mehta, BJP leader, and Councilor Mr. Mukesh Arora, Mr. Veer Vikram Singh and Mr. Deepak Gupta.
