Chandigarh, February 15 - Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that India and Japan complement each other socially and economically. He said that Haryana is the first choice of foreign investors in the country as the state provides a congenial environment to the multinational companies. Thus, Japan will always have a prominent role in the social and economic development of the state.
The Chief Minister was speaking at the closing ceremony of the golf networking event held at Classic Golf and Country Club on Hasanpur-Tauru Road near IMT Manesar in Gurugram. The Chief Minister honored the winners of the event and also released a booklet regarding Indo-Japan Industrial Investment.
Speaking to the delegation from India and Japan, Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal said that today both the countries are acting as big partners on the international platform and many Japanese multinational companies are well established in the state. Also, in the field of trade and investment, India's partnership with Japan is moving forward, owing to a healthy relationship with the state of Haryana. There are many industrial sectors like electronics, automobiles, textiles, medical equipment, renewable energy and food processing in which Japanese companies are investing in the state providing an ideal place for these industries to flourish.
He congratulated the Strategic Investment Research team for the beginning of the Fifth Way of India-Japan Relations. He said that this team's report is a small step towards simplifying the Indian operating and financial environment for Japanese investors. The Chief Minister said that the state was playing a pivotal role in strengthening trust-based relations. He said in his address that Haryana is small in terms of area, but it contributes to 3.5 percent of the nation’s economy.
Mr. Manohar Lal said that to the representatives of Japan that Haryana is a land of opportunities, enterprises, and innovation and has an incomparable identity among the most progressive and industrially developed states of the country. He said that the state has the highest per capita income if compared to other big states of India and the Haryana's GDP is increasing at a rate of 12 percent per annum. The manufacturing and services industry contributes to about 86 percent of the state's economy. Haryana ranks first in North India and third in the country in the Ease of Doing Business according to the ranking done by the World Bank. He said that to provide industrial approval, Haryana has started a single-window system and today this is among the best systems of the country. Along with the industrial investment, the Haryana government is also focused on customer satisfaction.
He expressed happiness while communicating with the Japanese delegation that recently there has been a significant increase in the investments made by Japanese companies and the government is keen to keep maintain this relationship. The Chief Minister also thanked the Invest India team for organizing the Haryana-Japan Golf Meet.
Chief Minister encouraged the participants by presenting them with a citation and a memento during the golf networking event. He honored the event winners Rai Miano Sen, KK Sindhu and Koji Murata Sen by giving them the Spot Prize and Over All Prize for Azad Sandhu and Kulwinder Singh.
Additional Chief Secretary, Industries Department, Mr. Devender Singh, spoke on the facilities and services being provided to the entrepreneurs by the Haryana Government. He said that with better coordination, foreign investors are becoming enthusiastic partners in the state today. A pleasant and safe environment is being provided by the state.
Director of Industries Department, Dr. Saket Kumar thanked everyone for the active participation in organizing the successful organizing the event and said that the Department is providing services to investors as an active partner. He said that these events are inspirational for building friendly relations and for moving forward in the industrial sector. Invest India representative, Mr. Pawan Kumar Chaudhary welcomed everyone while informing them about the objectives of the event.
