Chandigarh, February 20 – On the first day of Haryana Vidhan Sabha Session, which commenced here today, obituary resolutions were passed to pay rich tributes to those prominent personalities who have expired between the period from the end of the previous session and the beginning of the current session.
Leader of the House and Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal paid tributes and read out the obituary resolutions. These including former Minister of State, former Member of Haryana Legislative Assembly, Freedom Fighters and martyrs of Haryana and close relatives of members of Haryana Vidhan Sabha. The members of House also observed silence to pay homage to the departed souls.
Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Mr. Gian Chand Gupta read out the obituary resolutions and paid tributes to the departed souls.
Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda also read out the obituary resolutions on behalf of his party.
Those paid homage in the House included Minister of State, Chaudhary Khurshid Ahmed and former Member of Haryana Legislative Assembly, Chaudhary Ude Singh Dalal.
Tributes were also paid to freedom fighter namely Mr. Chhotu Ram of village Dhor, District Jhajjar and 7 martyrs of the State who showed indomitable courage and made supreme sacrifice of their lives while safeguarding the unity and integrity of the motherland. These included Sepoy Sunil Kumar, village Bawwa, District Rewari, Sepoy Kapil Singh, village Chelawas, District Mahendragarh, Sepoy Pawan, village Chimni, District Jhajjar, Sepoy Naveen Joon, village Desalpur, District Jhajjar, Sepoy Jai Singh, village Masit, District Rewari, Sepoy Azad Singh, village Malsari Khera, District Jind and Sepoy Anil Kumar, village Madan Heri, District Hisar.
Apart from this, the House placed on record its deep sense of sorrow on the sad demise of Mr. Fakir Chand Garg, father-in-law of Mr. Aseem Goel, MLA, Ms. Savitri Devi, aunt of Mr. Gopal Kanda, MLA, and Ms. Ram Pyari, wife of Mr. Surjeet Kumar Dhiman, Ex-MLA.
