Chandigarh February 26- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that no one could restrict Haryana from getting its share of water through Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) Canal as the Supreme Court (SC) has already given its decision in favour of Haryana that the State has its legitimate share in the Canal water.

Mr Manohar Lal who was interacting with the media persons after the proceedings of the fourth day of Budget Session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today was asked to comment on the statement given by Punjab Chief Minister Mr Amarinder Singh on SYL issue.

The Chief Minister said that the only issue which is pending before the Apex Court is regarding the construction of SYL canal for getting water to Haryana. He hoped that the SC would issue implementation orders soon to some Agency, probably of the Central Government so that construction of SYL canal could be started at the earliest.

In reply to another question, he said that an all-party delegation led by him (Mr Manohar Lal) had also met the then Union Home Minister Mr Rajnath Singh in New Delhi and requested him for early completion of SYL Canal. He said that collective efforts are being made by rising above the party lines in the interest of the State.

While referring to his interaction with President of the United States, Mr. Donald John Trump during the dinner hosted by the President of India, Mr. Ram Nath Kovind in the honor of Mr. Trump, at New Delhi yesterday, Mr Manohar Lal informed President Mr. Donald Trump that Haryana is to New Delhi as Virginia is to Washington D.C. Quoting similarities, he said that as Haryana surrounds Delhi on three sides, in similar way Virginia surrounds Washington on three sides.

The Chief Minister said that to strengthen the relations with other countries Government of Haryana has setup a new Department of Foreign Corporation.
