Chandigarh, March 12 - Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that to achieve Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s goal of doubling the farmers' income by 2022, everyone will have to move together towards natural farming. In this year’s budget, State Government has also set a target of doing natural farming on 1 lakh acres of land.
The Chief Minister was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Padmashree Subhash Palekar Agricultural Workshop organized by the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department in the auditorium of Gurukul Kurukshetra today.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that 500 farmers each from all the districts of the State will be trained as trainers to create an environment for natural farming and further these farmers can make small and big farmers of their districts aware of natural farming. Apart from this, while the State Government will encourage indigenous cow owners, on the other hand, it will also establish 1 thousand Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) for the crops of the farmers.
Earlier, Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal, Gujarat Governor, Mr. Acharya Devvrat and Haryana Agriculture Minister, Mr. Jai Parkash Dalal inaugurated the Natural Farming Training Center constructed by the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, at a cost of about 2 crore 11 lakhs.
The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to Gujarat Governor, Mr. Acharya Devvrat for encouraging the cultivation of natural farming from the premises of Gurukul and said that with the changing times, saving nature is the need of the hour. Humans can play an important role in maintaining the balance of nature and today everyone should adopt natural farming to maintain the balance of nature, conserve water, for healthy living, doubling the income of farmers by reducing the cost and increasing the production, providing good quality food to the people.
He said that in order to save nature, it is very important to maintain the balance between earth, water, fire, air, and sky, and for this we have to adopt the ideas of Padmashri Subhash Palekar and move towards natural farming.
He said that it is a privilege that King Kuru started the practice of plow farming from the land of Kurukshetra and today the State Government have initiated the interest towards natural farming from the Holy land of Kurukshetra and from the institutions like Gurukul.
He said that the State Government has also encouraged the promotion of native cows for promoting natural farming. He said that any person who will nurture indigenous cows in the State will be encouraged. Not only this, but the budget of the Gau Sewa Ayog has also been increased to 50 crores.
Expressing gratitude towards the Haryana Chief Minister on the initiative taken by the government to promote natural farming from Gurukul Kurukshetra, Mr. Acharya Devvrat shared his experiences related to natural farming and said that the farmers should understand the difference between organic and natural farming and everyone should take up natural farming and its decision were also taken by the Haryana government.
He said that natural cow dung will be used for natural cultivation and other fertilizers will not be used in it, because the cow dung will produce bacteria and these bacteria will boost natural farming, it will not reduce the production but will reduce the cost of farmers, 70 percent of water will be saved, the indigenous cow will be promoted and further will also fulfill Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s dream of doubling the farmers' income by the year 2022.
He said that the price of the yield of natural farming is two to three times higher in the market and the environment is also protected by this farming. Haryana being close to the capital of the country, there will never be any problem with marketing in the future, he added.
He further said that under the leadership of the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, natural farming will bring prosperity among the farmers and an environment for natural farming will also be created. He said that in the last 7months, 1 lakh 25 thousand farmers have been introduced to natural farming in Gujarat and in the last four years millions of farmers have been connected with natural farming in Himachal Pradesh also. He said that we have to carry forward this great mission of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and work to make the farmers prosperous.
Earlier, Haryana Agriculture Minister, Mr. Jai Prakash Dalal said that Gurukul Kurukshetra has developed into an excellent model in the entire country and this model needs to be adopted by every farmer in the State today. Keeping these aspects in mind, the Government has decided to do natural farming on 1 lakh acres of land.
He said that the government will soon arrange a large market for the products of natural farming, products of high quality will be made available in this market. Natural farming will reduce the cost of farmers and further increase their income, he added.
Welcoming the guests, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal said that at the Natural Farming Training Center the farmers will be trained in natural farming so that they can save the environment by adopting natural farming and to increase income by increasing production.

On this occasion, Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Mr. Gian Chand Gupta, Power Minister, Mr. Ranjit Singh, Transport Minister, Mr. Mool Chand Sharma, State Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Mr. Sandeep Singh, Director, Agriculture Department, Himachal Pradesh, Mr. Rajeshwar Chandel, among others, inspected the indigenous cows in the Gaushala in Gurukul and a natural farmhouse in village Mirzapur.
