Chandigarh, May 8 - Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has said that the State Government is committed to help the migrant labourers keen on returning to their home states and in this series, about 2520 migrant labourers in three Special Shramik Trains have been sent to Bihar and about 1200 migrant labourers to Madhya Pradesh free of cost.

He said that the Haryana Government has taken the initiative to send migrant labourers stranded due to the lockdown and willing to return to their homes at the expenditure of the State Government by Special Shramik Trains and buses. He said that all Indians living in any part of the country are one and it is the responsibility of all of us as Indians to alleviate their sufferings. Apart from this, these migrant labourers have also significantly contributed in the progress of Haryana.

Train departed from Rewari to Sagar (Madhya Pradesh) -

For the second day in a row a Special Shramik Train departed from Rewari Junction for Sagar in Madhya Pradesh today carrying 1122 migrant labourers who were staying in district Rewari and 78 staying in Panipat district after proper health check up. Norms of social distancing were maintained.

Train departed from Rohtak to Katihar (Bihar)

Similarly, 1204 migrant labourers have been sent on the Special Shramik Train from Rohtak to Katihar (Bihar). The passengers on this train include 42 from Yamunanagar, 280 from Kurukshetra, 26 from Karnal, 163 from Sonipat, 37 from Palwal, 308 from Rohtak, 341 from Gurugram, and 7 migrant labourers from Panipat. All the laborers belong to Araria, Katihar, Madhepura, Purnia, Saharsa and Supol in Bihar.

The train departed from Ambala to Bhagalpur (Bihar)

On the other hand, about 1316 migrant labourers were sent to Bhagalpur (Bihar) from platform number three of Ambala Cantt. These include migrant labourers from Khagadia, Munger, West Champaran, Begusarai and Bhagalpur districts of Bihar. They were given free tickets and were made to sit in the train following social distancing norms.

These include labourers who were staying in Ambala, Jind, Narnaul, Faridabad, Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar, Karnal, Sonipat, Hisar, Dadri, Rohtak, Jhajjar, Gurugram, Hansi, and Mewat, where they had come to harvest wheat and were stranded due to the lockdown. The train carried 85 labourers from Ambala, 173 from Jhajjar, 20 from Karnal, 102 from Narnaul, 12 from Sonipat, 196 from Kurukshetra, 121 from Bhiwani / Tosham, 76 from Rohtak, 404 from Jind, 50 from Charkhi Dadri, 37 from Panipat, 8 from Gurugram, 3 from Yamunanagar, 2 from Faridabad, 3 from Mewat and 24 from Hisar.

Facilities are being provided to the migrant labourers by the Haryana Government-

Today, circles were marked to ensure compliance of social distancing norms at these railway stations. Masks, sanitizers, and food and drink were also arranged for the migrant labourers at the entrance of the railway station. All these migrant labourers were brought by buses from various districts to the respective railway stations of the State. After the health check-ups of the migrant labourers at the railway station, they were guided by staff members of the concerned administration to their bogies so that social distancing could be maintained.

After taking their seats in the train, the migrant labourers said with enthusiasm that Haryana Government has made arrangements for their return free of cost. Apart from this, the State Government has also provided water and food packets for the journey. They said that the Haryana Government fulfilled their dream of returning home. The labourers raised the slogan, “Haryana Sarkar achi hai! Haryana Sarkar Zindabad!”

The dream of migrant labourers came true

The migrant labourers Ram Gopal, Ramsharan, Mohan Paswan, Nirmal Yadav, who reached the Ambala railway station, said that the free arrangement made by the State Government to send them is a commendable step of the State Government and that is why today they are able to return home safely. Similarly, migrant labourers Sunita Devi, Rekha and Sanjay Kumar said that they are being sent safely to their homes, while food and other facilities have also been provided to them so that they do not face any kind of trouble. For this they wholeheartedly thanked the Haryana Government.
