Chandigarh, May 10 - Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that with the objective of promoting industry, attracting investors and creating more employment opportunities, State Government has formulated a cluster scheme so that any industry should not be limited to only one district, but the industrial expansion should take place in all 22 districts.
The Chief Minister said that for the successful implementation of this scheme, and to boost the industries sector, road and rail network or any other infrastructure would be developed in future as per requirement.
Informing about the specifics of the scheme, the Chief Minister said that in 22 districts, four districts especially Gurugram, Faridabad, Rewari, Sonipat, are already industrial hubs. This scheme has been prepared for the expansion of industries in the remaining districts.
He said that as Sirsa district is rich in agricultural produce, therefore a plan would be chalked out to set up a cluster of food processing units along with textile industry in this district. Agricultural industries and iron and steel industries will be promoted in Fatehabad and Jind district, he added.
He said that since Hisar district is already doing good business in iron and steel, therefore the same will be augmented further. Similarly, the textile industry in Bhiwani would further be promoted. Besides this, food based industries would be expanded further. He said that as Mahendragarh district is known for growing mustard with a number of oil mills already there, this industry would further be expanded. Auto component industries would also be set up in this area.
Similarly expansion of industries manufacturing auto components in Rewari district, textile, pharmaceutical and chemical industry in Nuh district, scientific equipment in Ambala, IT and IT-enabled services in Panchkula, Agro and food and automobile components in Sonipat, Auto Components, Construction and Engineering, Agro and food industries in Faridabad, and promotion of oil mills in Charkhi Dadri would be done, he added.
He said that plywood and steel factories are already operational in Yamunanagar, therefore these industries would further be promoted. Similarly, in Kurukshetra paper mills and Agro and Food industries would be set up. He said that in Panipat the textile industry is already operational, so now Agro and Food industries would also be promoted in the district. The footwear industry in Jhajjar, especially in Bahadurgarh, would be further expanded. Engineering units would be taken up in Rohtak, he added.
He said that Automobile, Auto Component, IT and IT-Enabled Services, Electrical, Electronics would be expanded in Gurugram. Agro and Food industries, packaging and pharmaceutical industries would be encouraged in Karnal.
The Chief Minister said that the cluster approach would be followed in all 22 districts so that whoever wishes to work in these districts get meaningful employment.
He said that to make the citizens of Haryana employment- worthy, their skill development is being imparted in Vishwakarma Skill Development University located in Palwal district.
