Chandigarh, May 13 - The Haryana Government is all set to kick-start the fifth batch of the Chief Minister’s Good Governance Associates (CMGGA) Programme from July 21, 2020 in view of its success since the last four years.
The programme was envisioned by Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal, in 2016 to bring young professionals to work with the government and improve the public service delivery in Haryana. Over the last four years, 100 young professionals have successfully worked with the Chief Minister's office in implementing some of the biggest flagship programmes including Antyodaya Saral, Saksham Haryana, Haryana roadways and grievance management through CM Window. The new batch will get an opportunity to work on different projects such as on improving sex ratio of the state, organ donation and transplantation, anemia reducation as well as solid waste management in Haryana.
The programme started with the concept of encompassing good governance through streamlining the state’s flagship programmes as well as launch of innovative interventions designed by the CMGGAs under the leadership of their respective DCs. This mixed approach of work led to the tremendous success amongst the youth, with over 4,000 registrations received last year. On an average, each cohort has candidates from more than 10 states of India.
Divulging more details, Program Director of CMGGA, Dr. Rakesh Gupta, from the Chief Minister’s Office in Haryana said that the programme was launched to encourage young professionals to work directly with the government in ensuring efficiency and transparency in citizen service delivery across the state. He said that amidst the covid19 situation, it is important to keep the program going and supporting the state and district administration in every way possible. The application process for the fifth batch has thus started online, and is inviting applications from across the country. The interviews will also be conducted online in the month of June and final selected candidates would resume work from July 21, 2020.
He said that the CMGGAs of the current 2019-20 batch have provided crucial support to the district administration in covid19 crisis management by ensuring distribution of food supply, movement pass management over Saral portal, maintenance and services across shelter homes, online social media management offering psychological support to the citizens. The current batch of CMGGAs are working from the district headquarters itself with full attention to the district’s strategy in helping citizens in the crisis situation.
What is the CMGGA Programme?
The CMGGA programme is a strategic collaboration between Ashoka University and Government of Haryana since 2016 to leverage the energy, creativity and skill of the youth to work on state priorities and push good governance.
The 25 selected candidates would be placed across 22 districts of Haryana and would be directly working with the Deputy Commissioner and administration to streamline the system and provide innovative solutions to revamp existing structures for increased productivity and enhanced citizen delivery.
The applicants will be required to fill an online application form from the official CMGGA Website, available since 07 May, online personal interviews. The results of the final selected candidates will be announced in June end with the programme commencing from July 20 2020.
The co-founder and trustee of Ashoka University, Mr. Vineet Gupta said that the fellowship has been receiving a tremendous amount of applicants over the last four years, thereby increasing the competitive levels.
After an intense process of selection, 25 applicants will be on boarded as part of the programme. A total of 100 associates from the last four years have created a palpable impact in Haryana across multiple domain.
