Chandigarh, May 16- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has taken forward the Jal Jeevan Mission Yojana of Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi for water conservation in the state, by launching the portal for the newly started scheme 'Mera Pani Meri Virasat' today. The portal was launched today before the sowing of paddy so that the farmers are made aware about the scheme and support the government in conserving water for future generations.
Through this portal, farmers can provide their details of sowing alternate crops other than paddy and avail the financial assistance at the rate of Rs 7000 per acre.
It is worth mentioning that under the new crop diversification scheme 'Mera Pani-Meri Virasat' scheme has been launched under which, eight blocks, including Ratia in Fatehabad district, Siwan and Guhla in Kaithal district, Pipli, Shahbad, Babain and Ismailabad in Kurukshetra district, and Sirsa block of Sirsa districts have been identified, where ground water level is much lower than 40 meters
On this occasion, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Mr. JP Dalal, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. V. Umashankar, Deputy Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mrs. Ashima Brar, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal, Principal Secretary, Development and Panchayat Department Mr. Sudhir Rajpal, Director General, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, Mr. Vijay Singh Dahiya and other officers were present.
