Chandigarh, 30- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal while greeting all the media persons on Hindi Patrakarita Diwas said that journalism is a strong medium between the individual and society, true journalism works in the interest of the public.

In a message issued here today on Hindi Patrakarita Diwas, the Chief Minister said that Hindi journalism holds great importance and makes a significant contribution to the country. He said that since Hindi is spoken in most states of the country, the interest in Hindi journalism still prevails today whether it is print media or electronic media. He said that journalism has played an important role in weeding out the malpractices from society including corruption. Hindi journalism has always generated awareness amongst the people, he added.

The Chief Minister said that the values of journalism are associated with our noble ideals. Journalists have even sacrificed their lives to protect the values of humanity, justice and service. Matching steps with the Government, media has also played an important role in helping to save the society from COVID-19, he added. He said that along with the doctors, paramedical, police and personnel of other Government departments, media persons too are playing the role of Corona Warriors as they are disseminating invaluable information to the public even while risking their own lives.

The Chief Minister said that some journalists have lost their lives in the battle against COVID-19, for which the nation salutes them. The State Government will extend support for the welfare of their family members according to the Government policy.
