Chandigarh, June 15 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal in a review meeting on COVID-19 asked the officers to work with the spirit of service to mankind and to take steps to make public aware about ways to protect themselves from the infection.
The Chief Minister also directed to conduct a survey of vacant buildings in Gurugram district so that they can be used for isolation of COVID patients when required. The Chief Minister also directed to monitor sample testing in private laboratories and to ensure timely uploading of their reports. He also asked them to randomly check the reports of private laboratories as well. He also said that it is necessary to enter the name and address of the person who gets his test conducted. He assured that a person belonging to any state can get his sample tested for COVID in Gurugram, he only has to give his correct address. He emphasized on the distribution of face masks to the public to ensure protection from COVID-19 and further added that the amount collected from the fine imposed for not wearing masks should be used to make new masks and then distribute them among the needy people.
The Chief Minister said that people should be motivated to increase their immunity levels. He said that Ayurvedic and Homeopathy medicines have no side effects and there is no harm if people use these medicines in general. He also discussed the use of the Arogya Setu App.
Speaking about the distress ration token, he said that this token can be used to collect ration by the end of this month. The Chief Minister said that work will be done to ensure availability of ration cards to all needy families in the State.
Chief Executive Officer of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority, Mr. VS Kundu, present in the meeting, said that a unified portal is being prepared about COVID-19 through which complete details will be given online, including beds and facilities available in hospitals across the State. A person can go for treatment anywhere by looking at that data, he added.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister was also apprised about the number of Containment Zones and the arrangements made therein. He was informed that contact tracing of Corona positive patients has been done in collaboration with the Municipal Corporation. In the Containment Zone, the team of Ayush Department is distributing medicines to increase the immunity of Corona positive patients. Nearly about thousand people have been challaned for not wearing masks and about 2.5 lakh cloth masks have been distributed in the district. It has been made mandatory for private labs to test samples only after verifying the identity card of the person.
