Chandigarh, June 16 - Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that State Government has decided to hold the trials against accused in cow slaughtering cases in fast-track courts, in a bid to curb the incidents of cow slaughtering incidents in the State.
The State Government has also decided that Right to Freedom of Religion Bill will be passed to stop forced conversions. Besides this, a Dharmada Board would also be constituted to look after the religious estates in the Hindu minority areas, he said.
The Chief Minister said this while addressing a press conference at Nuh today.
The Chief Minister said that various steps are being taken by the State Government while maintaining mutual brotherhood and social harmony. He said that to curb the incidents of cow slaughter in Haryana and to take strict and prompt action against the accused, hearings of all such cases would be held in fast-track courts. “If needed amendments would also be made in the Haryana Gau Sanrakshan and Gau Samvardhan Act, 2015, to ensure protection of cows,” he said.
Speaking on the issue of forced religious conversions, the Chief Minister said that in some areas cases of forced conversions have been reported, and taking a strong cognizance of all such unlawful conversions, the Right to Freedom of Religion Bill would be passed and as per the provisions of the bill, strict action would be taken against those involved in illegitimate conversions.
He said that Dharmada Board would be constituted to look after the religious assets of Hindu minority areas. This work would be done according to the demand of the people of the concerned area.
Earlier, Chief Minister also held a meeting of District Administration and representatives of various social and religious organizations. He appealed to the people that they should continue to maintain social harmony that has been prevalent through the ages by strengthening the spirit of brotherhood.
He said, “We should always remember that the country, state and society belong to all of us. It is not right to blame the entire society for the actions of anti-social elements. We should also remain cautious while using social media. One should use social media platform from a positive perspective.”
District Nuh to get 100 cusecs of water from the Yamuna River:
The Chief Minister, while talking about the solution for the drinking water problem in Nuh district during the press conference, informed that for Nuh district, a project has been prepared for providing 100 cusecs of drinking water from Yamuna along with KMP Express Way. He said that an amount of Rs. 220 crore would be spent on this project. The problem of drinking water is being tackled in a better way by the State Government so as to ensure that people do not have to face any water related problem; work is also being done in a planned manner at departmental level.
Delhi-Mumbai Express Highway to boost Industrial development of Nuh district:
The Chief Minister said that apart from giving maximum employment to the people of Nuh district, the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, passing through Nuh would certainly prove to be the catalyst for development. He said that work has started on this expressway and along with this, the possibilities of industrial investment in Nuh district will increase in the coming times. He said that with coming up of industrial units, people of the district would not only get ample employment opportunities but this will also play an important role in the economic development of the district. He informed that the work of MSMEs will also increase.
IRB battalion to be established in the district:
The Chief Minister said that the State Government plans to set up an IRB battalion in Nuh district. The IRB battalion based at Gurugram will be shifted to Nuh and a new women IRB battalion will be established in Gurugram. He said that this would lead to better participation in law enforcement in the region.
