Chandigarh, July 10: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that the State Government is practicing complete transparency in carrying out development works and is moving towards Social Auditing System so as to ensure judicious utilization of the tax-payers’ money.

The Chief Minister said this while addressing a press conference in Rohtak today. He said that the activities which were disrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic have now slowly come back on track up to 85 percent. Several steps have been taken by the State Government to deal with COVID-19. During Unlock-2, all activities have picked up speed. He said that in the last financial year 2019-20, from April to June, Rs 16,009 crore were received by the State Government in the form of revenue, whereas in the current financial year, Rs 11,098 crore has been received during this period. He said that about Rs 3,000 crore have been spent so far by the State Government during the COVID-19 pandemic. During the month of June, 80 percent of electricity consumption has been recorded and 80 percent work is also being done in the industrial sector.

He said that Rs. 290 crore has been received in Haryana Corona Relief Fund to help the needy people during the pandemic. New arrangements have also been made to ensure that the public does not suffer. He said that out of the Haryana Corona Relief Fund, an amount of Rs 700 crore has been given to 16 lakh people as financial assistance ranging from Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000. Free ration was distributed by the State Government during April, May, and June, on which an amount of Rs. 107 crore has been spent. An amount of Rs 75 crore has been received from pension holders and employees of the state in the Haryana Corona Relief Fund and there are about 300 such employees who have donated their entire one month’s salary. He said that all the MLAs of the state have donated one month's salary in this fund and for one year, they have decided to donate 30 percent of their salary to this fund. Farmers have also donated to this fund.

The Chief Minister said that Rs 35 crores have been spent for the welfare of workers of the unorganized sector, Rs 6.72 crores have been spent under the AYUSH mission and an amount of Rs 10 crores has been reserved for Ex-gratia. Apart from this, an amount of Rs 504 crore has been spent under the Disaster Management in the state. Arrangements were made for the migrant workers to return to their home states via buses and Special Shramik Trains. He said that he is sensitive towards the welfare of every person of society.

Mr. Manohar Lal said that under the Mukhyamantri Parivar Samridhi Yojana, the State Government has collected complete data of each family and according to eligibility, the benefit of welfare schemes will be provided to the concerned families. He clarified that the benefit of the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana being implemented by the State Government is being given to the farmers who are registering for the scheme. He said that the State Government procures each grain of bajra, mustard etc. from farmers.

On this occasion, Lok Sabha MP from Karnal, Mr. Sanjay Bhatia, Lok Sabha MP from Sonepat, Mr. Ramesh Kaushik, Rajya Sabha MP Mr. Ramchandra Jangra, and other dignitaries were present.
