Chandigarh, July 27 : Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has extended warm wishes and has congratulated CRPF personnel on the occasion of 82nd Foundation Day of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
In a message issued here today, the Chief Minister said that CRPF is the oldest of the Central Paramilitary Forces in the country. On this day, in the year 1939, CRPF was formed. Later, it was entrusted with internal security as well as prevention of subversive activities. Today, the soldiers of this force are also showing bravery in defeating Naxalite activities.
The Chief Minister said that every tenth soldier in the Indian Army is from Haryana, despite the fact that the State represents less than two percent of the country's population. He said that in spite of this, Central paramilitary forces like Central Reserve Police Force, Border Security Force, Central Industrial Security Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force and Sashastra Seema Bal also have a large number of personnel from Haryana.
Considering this, State Government has set up a separate Department of Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare for the welfare of the personnel of these forces and their families.
The Chief Minister hoped that CRPF would always remain at the forefront for safeguarding Nation’s interest.
