Chandigarh August 7: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal and Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment (Independent Charge), Mr. Santosh Kumar Gangwar today inaugurated Plasma Bank at ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Faridabad.
It is pertinent to mention that plasma banks have also been set up at Rohtak, Gurugram and Panchkula districts too. The COVID-19 vaccine trials are also underway at Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak.
The Chief Minister and Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment inaugurated the Plasma Bank at ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Faridabad through video conferencing from Haryana Bhavan in New Delhi.
While appealing to the people who have recovered from COVID-19 infection, both the Chief Minister and Union Minister of State said that on humanitarian grounds all such people should come forward and donate plasma to COVID-19 infected patients.
The Chief Minister said that so far 350 people in Haryana have donated their plasma. Significantly an online portal for plasma donation has also been started by Haryana Government.
On this occasion the Chief Minister in his address said that while learning from experiences during the COVID-19 Pandemic situation, new arrangements have been made in the State. Out of 39,500 COVID-19 infected patients in Haryana, about 32,500 persons have recovered from the disease and there are about 6200 active cases.
He further informed that as many as 20,000 tests are being conducted on daily basis in the State. So far, nearly seven lakh tests have been done. ESIC hospitals have done commendable work in treating COVID-19 infected patients. For boosting immunity resistance, Ayurvedic medicines are being distributed free of cost in Haryana.
Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr. Santosh Kumar Gangwar lauded the works and arrangements made by the State Government for treating COVID-19 patients.
He said that in order to control the spread of COVID-19 Pandemic, apart from Sant Nagar and Basai Darapur, testing facilities by Indian Council of Medical Research are being made available at ESIC hospital in Faridabad.
