Chandigarh October 13: Haryana Vidhan Sabha witnessed a historic moment today when Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Monohar Lal unveiled the portrait of Lord Krishna Chariot and sacred Bhagvad Gita in the premises of Haryana Vidhan Sabha here. Besides, he also released the first edition of monthly magazine ‘Sadan Sandesh’ of Haryana Vidhan Sabha and also launched the Flag to be used by sitting MLAs on their vehicles.

Mr Manohar Lal accompanied by Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Mr Gian Chand Gupta, Deputy Speaker, Mr Ranbir Gangwa, Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Mr Kanwar Pal, Ministers and MLAs of different political parties unveiled the portrait of Lord Krishan Chariot and sacred Bhagvad Gita amidst Gita shlokas.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr Manohar Lal said that today is a historic moment for Haryana Vidhan Sabha as it has witnessed three significant events.

The sitting MLAs authorized by the Haryana Vidhan Sabha shall use the Flag on his or her vehicle, which is registered on his or her name. In case, the sitting MLA does not have any vehicle registered in his/her name, then the Flag can be used on the private or hired vehicles. In case, the vehicle having the Flag is not carrying a sitting MLA, then the Flag shall remain covered by a white cover. The MLAs have to apply for the Flag to the Haryana Vidhan Sabha and the authorization for the use of Flag by the authorized sitting MLA will be issued by the Transport Commissioner, Haryana in the prescribed form. The authorization will remain valid till the completion of tenure of Haryana Vidhan Sabha or till the sitting MLAs have the membership of the State Assembly.

Describing Haryana as the land of Gita, Mr Manohar Lal said that Lord Krishna had delievered celestial message of Bhagvad Gita to Arjuna on the sacred land of Kurukshetra. He said that people from Haryana and other parts of the country visit the Haryana Vidhan Sabha Gallery to watch the proceedings of the August House during the Vidhan Sabha Session and the presence of portrait of Lord Krishna Chariot and sacred Bhagavad Gita in the premises of Haryana Vidhan Sabha would certainly inspire them about glorious culture of the State.

The Chief Minister said that with a view to spread the message of sacred Bhagvad Gita throughout the world, the present State Government has been organizing Gita Mahotsav of International level since the year 2016. In the same series, International Gita Mahotsav was also organized in Mauritius in February and in the United Kingdom in the month of August last year. He said that a similar event was also scheduled to be held in Australia but had to be put off due to COVID-19 pandemic. He said that people of Indian Origin residing in foreign countries are enthusiastic about organizing Gita Mahotsav in their countries.

He said that the monthly magazine ‘Sadan Sandesh’ of Haryana Vidhan Sabha would provide important information about the functioning of Haryana Vidhan Sabha and its other activities.

Earlier, Speaker, Haryana Vidhan Sabha, Mr Gian Chand Gupta thanked Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal for unveiling the portrait of Lord Krishna Chariot and sacred Bhagvad Gita in the premises of the Vidhan Sabha , releasing the first edition of monthly magazine ‘Sadan Sandesh’ of Vidhan Sabha and launching Flag to be used by MLAs on their vehicles. He said that Lord Krishna delivered the celestial message of Bhagvad Gita to Arjuna in Kurukshetra about 5100 years ago and the portrait of Lord Krishna Chariot and sacred Bhagvad Gita would give a distinct identity to Haryana Vidhan Sabha. The teachings of Bhagavad Gita inspire us to always perform our duty efficiently and without attachment to the results, he added.

Mr Gupta said that the magazine ‘Sadan Sandesh’ of Haryana Vidhan Sabha would acquaint the MLAs about the latest activities of Haryana Vidhan Sabha and the functioning of its different Committees.

Deputy Speaker, Haryana Vidhan Sabha, Mr Ranbir Gangwa said that the 14th Vidhan Sabha of Haryana is fast moving on the path of setting new milestones.

Among those present on this occasion included Transport Minister, Mr Mool Chand Sharma, Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Minister Mr J.P Dalal, Co-operation Minister, Dr Banwari Lal, Minister of State for Women and Child Development Department, Mrs Kamlesh Dhanda, INLD MLA Mr Abhay Singh Chautala and other MLAs of BJP and Congress.
