Chandigarh, October 16: The Haryana Cabinet which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal here today approved the proposal for providing State Government guarantee for availing term loan of Rs. 55 crore by the Haryana State Co-operative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (HAFED) from the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) for setting up of Mega Food Park Project Rohtak.
This project is being set-up by HAFED at Industrial Model Township Rohtak under the Mega Food Park Scheme of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (Mofpi), Government of India.
The project is spread across 50 acres and has 80 plots varying from 450 to 4050 sq. meters in size besides 24 Standard Design Factory (SDF) Sheds for MSMEs. Units relating to Multi Crop Processing Line (Vegetables and Fruits), Ready-to-Eat Food, Spice Processing and Packaging, Oil Extraction, Canning, Bakery, Integrated Milk processing/ Tetra Packaging Unit, Animal Feed Formulation units etc., can be set up by the Investors in this Mega Food Park. As a part of this project, three Primary Processing Centres (PPCs) are also to be set up in districts Manakpur in Yamunanagar, Narwana in Jind, and Bawal in Rewari.
As per the decision of the State Government, the Civil Works of this project at the cost of Rs. 30 crore are being executed by the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC), whereas the Plant and Machinery works at a cost of about Rs. 23.50 crore have being executed by HAFED.
