Chandigarh, December 20- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi had pledged to double farmers' income by 2022 as soon as he had formed the government. To fulfill this resolution, three new Agricultural Laws have been enacted so as to ensure financial stability of farmers.
The Chief Minister was addressing a Jal Adhikar Rally at ITI ground in Narnaul today. He cleared the misconceptions of the farmers of the state regarding the three Agricultural Laws passed by the Central Government amidst the slogans 'Haryana Ne Thana Hai, SYL Ka Paani Laana Hai'. The Chief Minister presented his views on all the three laws before the farmers who had come to attend the rally. The farmers extended their support to all the three laws by raising their hands.
Mr. Manohar Lal said that only a handful of people are opposing these laws, as they have been misled by some political parties.
He said that sincere efforts have been made to convince the farmers by ensuring that an eight-page letter of the Union Agriculture Minister, Mr. Narendra Singh Tomar reaches 7 lakh people. He said that on reading this letter carefully misconceptions being spread by the opposition will be cleared.
Addressing the rally, the Chief Minister said that in support of Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, 32,000 farmers from all the districts of the state had carried out a Satyagraha recently. Farmers have welcomed the Prime Minister's decision by holding a tractor rally in support of these laws as well. Farmers know that their financial condition cannot be improved without a substantial change, he added.
He said that Congress always believes in maintaining the status quo. This is the reason why the farmers have not been able to get their rights since the independence of the country. He added that the present government is making efforts to enhance the storage facilities and sales procedures so as to increase farmers' income, however, some political parties are trying to take advantage of the situation.
