Chandigarh, January 5: While giving a major relief to the small Vayoparis (small traders) in the State, Haryana Government has decided to provide one per cent (1%) exemption of Market Fee to such Vayoparis with turnover upto Rs 5 lakh per annum.

 While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has approved a proposal in this regard. He said that for this, necessary amendments would be made in Haryana Agricultural Produce Markets (General) Rules, 1962.

 He said that any small trader who would submit final annual return in the Market Committee on the closure of a financial year showing that his total annual turnover from sale purchase of agricultural produce in Haryana was less than Rs 5 lakh in the previous year, would be entitled to claim refund upto 1 per cent market fees on the said turnover if he has deposited any market fees in any market committee of the State on such sale purchase.

 The spokesman said that Mr Manohar Lal has also approved to amend Rule 17 of the Haryana Agricultural Produce Markets (General) Rules, 1962 providing for the criteria for issue of category (iii) licence. According to the amendment, the requirement for getting this category (iii) license would be exceeding Rs 5 lakh and not exceeding Rs 12 lakh. With this, the small traders with annual turnover of less than Rs 5 lakh would not have to get the license required under section 10 and Rule-17. Besides, they would not have to maintain and submit the required record to the concerned market committee and no market fee would also be leviable from such small traders.
