Chandigarh, February 5: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, every sector has been affected. Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi had announced Rs 20 lakh crore economic package so as to bring the country’s economy back on track and this package has now been increased to about Rs. 24 lakh crore. Therefore the State Government should also formulate such schemes so that this package can be used to get the maximum benefit.

Mr. Manohar Lal said that every statesman has a desire how to make the country self-reliant. Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi has launched campaigns like Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat with the aim of taking the Country on the path of development.

The Chief Minister said this during a review meeting regarding Atmanirbhar Bharat Campaign in view of the upcoming Haryana Budget 2021-22 held here today. He said that the State has to work in the direction of increasing employment, strengthening the economic situation, ease of doing business and ease of living. He directed the Administrative Secretaries of various departments present in the meeting to prepare such schemes so that maximum amount of Atmanirbhar Bharat package can be availed.

Mr. Manohar Lal directed the officers to ensure that every civil hospital has private rooms and to increase the room numbers along with ensuring high class facilities provided in these rooms. This will prevent people from going to private hospitals and give priority to government hospitals. Apart from this, ICU facilities should also be provided to citizens in all civil hospitals, directed the Chief Minister.

During the meeting, it was informed that out of one lakh crore Agri Infrastructure Fund for Farm-Gate Infrastructure for farmers, Rs 3900 crore have been allocated to Haryana. Similarly, an amount of Rs 2212.81 crore has been transferred to 18,92,682 farmers under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Nidhi Yojana.  Under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, claims worth Rs. 2980.74 crore have been paid to 13,27,245 farmers.

The Chief Minister was also apprised that a target has been set to create 1589 Health and Wellness Centres in rural and urban areas, out of which 630 such centres have already been set up. In addition, there are four functional District Public Health Laboratories in Ambala, Hisar, Karnal and Yamunanagar.

It was also informed in the meeting that 5,30,505 MT wheat was distributed during April to November 2020. The 'One Nation-One Ration Card' scheme has been fully implemented in Haryana. Under this scheme, there were 744 transactions in the state in the month of November 2020 and by doing so Haryana has became the first state in the country.

Prasad; Additional Chief Secretary, School Education Department, Mr. Mahavir Singh; Additional Chief Secretary, Civil Aviation Department, Mr. Sudhir Rajpal; Principal Secretary, Town and Country Planning and Urban Estates Department, Mr. A.K. Singh; Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr. V. Umashankar; Deputy Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mrs. Ashima Brar and senior officers of various departments were present.
