Chandigarh, February 7: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that everyone should takeout one day for entertainment, from their daily busy schedules, so as to relieve the stress levels. For this, a Raahgiri programme was started in recently from Karnal, which is being continued in other districts too.
Mr. Manohar Lal said this while addressing children and citizens present in the Street Painting Challenge organized by Karnal Smart City Limited in Prem Nagar, Karnal city today.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that last year due to global COVID-19 Pandemic, the Raahgiri programme was postponed, but now it has been restarted as there is some relief from the spread of the Pandemic.
Various programmes with different themes will be organised for the entire month that is on every Sunday on the place where the Raahgiri programme will be held in the city. After that from next month, similar programmes will be held in another part of the city. The Chief Minister also congratulated the organizers and the smart city team for organizing the event.
Speaking on the road safety theme at the Raahgiri programme, the Chief Minister said that road safety is a very important subject and everyone should be made aware about this. The Chief Minister said that understanding the importance of this subject, programmes on road safety theme which were used to be organized once a month are now being organized weekly.
During the programme, the Chief Minister also administered an oath to the children and citizens present at the event, that they would take care of all road safety rules while driving, follow traffic rules and motivate others. Will also come forward to help any person who meets with an accident.
Earlier, the Chief Minister witnessed the outdoor activities involved in the programme and encouraged the children who were participating there. While interacting with the children participating in painting competition, the Chief Minister also painted Ramnagar Mandal greetings.
Later, the Chief Minister also visited the pavilion setup for Parivar Pehchan Patra and reviewed the list of documents required to make the same.
To make the programme interesting, traditional games were included in programme. Children entertained the audience by presenting Haryanvi and Punjabi programmes at the cultural stage. A short play on road safety was also performed by the children.
On this occasion, City Mayor, Mrs. Renu Bala Gupta, Deputy Commissioner, Karnal, Mr. Nishant Kumar Yadav, Superintendent of Police Mr. Ganga Ram Punia, ADC, Mrs. Veena Hooda and many other dignitaries were present.
