Chandigarh, February 7: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal today dedicated a grand park developed at a cost of Rs 88 lakh by the Municipal Corporation, Karnal on the railway land in the city. The park is named after Babasaheb Dr. B.R Ambedkar.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that with the development of this park, an old demand of the area residents has been fulfilled today as with the construction of this park, the people of this area have got relief from unhealthy surroundings.
He said that this big park is developed in about one and a half acres of land. The park is equipped with various facilities like high mast light, bollard light, open gym, swings, various types of beautiful plants, gazebo, benches, sidewalks and wall paintings.
The Chief Minister said that the other vacant plot of railway adjacent to the park area will also be cleaned and made beautiful, for this, the State Government will hold talks with the Railways. A ticket window has also been opened here on the demand of the people, which will be started soon.
The years-old demand of the area people of the line crossing area for the construction of the foot-over bridge has also been fulfilled. The work of this bridge is in progress and is nearing completion, said the Chief Minister.
In his address, the Chief Minister gave the message of staying away from drug abuse. He said that community awareness campaigns should be continuously launched to solve this problem.
The Chief Minister said that the bad habit of drug abuse can be given up with strong will power. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also administered a pledge to the people to stay away from drug abuse.
Mayor, Mrs. Renu Bala Gupta thanked the Chief Minister for gifting various developmental projects to the people of Karnal and said that Karnal is continuously moving forward under the leadership of the Chief Minister.
On this occasion, City Mayor, Mrs. Renu Bala Gupta, Deputy Commissioner, Karnal, Mr. Nishant Kumar Yadav, Superintendent of Police Mr. Ganga Ram Punia, ADC, Mrs. Veena Hooda and many other dignitaries were present.
