Chandigarh, March 18- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the State Government would implement New National Education Policy by 2025 and an information in this regard has also been shared with the  Union Education Minister.

The Chief Minister shared this while replying on the issues of closure of some government schools raised by the Congress MLA, Smt. Geeta Bhukkal on the last day of Vidhan Sabha session held here today.

Divulging more details on the issue, the Chief Minister informed that the New Education Policy introduced by the Central Government will be implemented by the year 2030. Hence, keeping in view better management of education in Haryana, the State would implement this Policy by 2025.

The Chief Minister said that extensive planning strategy is required before any recruitment process is initiated, be it hiring teachers, doctors or engineers.  There was a time when there was a lot of demand for engineers. Today it has decreased. In today's era, recruitment of doctors is the need of the hour. Although earlier also the demand of doctors had been there but in the present times it has increased. Therefore opening medical colleges in every district of the state is the utmost priority of the State Government.

Sh. Manohar Lal said that although the posts of JBT teachers are sanctioned, but their demand has been decreased. The policies of previous governments can be a reason for this. While, the recruitment of Guest teachers done at the time of Congress Government, which was later challenged in the Supreme Court can be another reason that the demand of teachers have decreased.

He said that the State Government in its last tenure passed an Act in the Legislative Assembly for securing services of these Guest Teachers upto the age of 58 years. With this, in the 30:1 student-teacher ratio rules across the country, Haryana has made it to the ratio of 25:1. When the number of teachers becomes less, then the State would again take this ration to 30:1.

The Chief Minister said that the State Government has also increased the validity of Teacher Eligibility Test from five years to seven years. For better employment opportunities, skill development programmes have been undertaken and Skill University has also been established. Today, 22 DIETs Institutes are functional in the state and if needed, their seats will be increased even more.

The Chief Minister clarified that the present government rather than keeping anyone in dark would ensure the development of all while giving a better employment opportunity.

Taking a dig at Opposition, the Chief Minister said that with the introduction of Aadhaar Base Admission, the number of children enrolled in government schools have come down by two lakh as the names of these children were enrolled in both private and government schools.

The Chief Minister said that as per the rules, the state government has also decided to shut one school out of two schools running within a radius of one kilometer. Ensuring all round development of children is one of the utmost priorities of the state government along with improving the standard of education and the State Government is committed for this.

Responding to issue raised by Congress MLA Smt. Kiran Choudhary regarding appointment of Haryana Civil Services Officer in sports quota, the Chief Minister said that in this regard the State Government has adhered  to High Court’s decision and as per the decision the High Court has ruled that the joining of the said candidate should be  got done.
