Chandigarh, March 28- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal met the Regional Head of Parle-G Biscuits, Sh. Jitender Bakshi at Haryana Bhawan in New Delhi today and discussed about manufacturing millet (bajra) biscuits and other products by purchasing millet (Bajra) from Haryana.
He said that the Haryana Government had procured 7.76 lakh metric tonnes of millet (Bajra) during the Kharif season, so the state government would help the Parle-G company in providing millet (Bajra) for manufacturing biscuits and other products. The Chief Minister also met the Regional Head of Kaka Namkeen and discussed in detail about the use of millet (Bajra) for manufacturing Namkeen and other products.
After this meeting, Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the meeting with the regional heads of the two companies has been encouraging. He said that due to the benefits of millet (Bajra) its demand is increasing in present times. Sharing the benefits he said that millet (Bajra) helps in controlling the cholesterol levels, its rich fibre content helps in enhancing digestion. Besides this, millet (Bajra) is also helpful in preventing diabetes.
