Chandigarh, April 10 - Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) representatives have an extremely important role in symbolizing the core mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’. He further said that due to the outstanding efforts made by them, many developmental works of public interest are being completed. He further said that a Trust to ensure optimum utilization of the CSR money will be set up in the state.
Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal was addressing the Chief Guest at an event organised in connection with the Smart City at HSVP Convention Centre in Faridabad on Saturday.
The Chief Minister said that in the Constitution drafted after the independence of India made us aware of our rights and at the same time it made us familiar with our duties as well. As per the Constitution every citizen should become a conscious citizen so that he/she can contribute to make campaigns like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan a success. He elaborated that the CSR support given by Indian Oil with regard to making the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan successful in the city is commendable.
He hoped that in the coming time, Faridabad will establish a unique identity in the country as well as in the world as a result of the upcoming new mega project which will be an inspiration and an example for other states in the field of development as well.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sh. Yash Pal informed about the CSR activities and projects being run in association with the Municipal Corporation, Smart City Project and various companies and said that the conjoint efforts of all have helped in making the city clean and green. At the same time, after the construction of Waste Management Plant and products made from it, with the help of CSR, awareness is being spread among the people with regard to Waste Management Plant and its benefits.
During the programme, Indian Oil R&D Centre Director, Sh. SSV Rama Kumar, while presenting his report on Indian Oil and its Corporate Social Responsibility, said that the Indian Oil Research and Development Centre is spread over 65 acres and it is Asia's largest Centre in the Energy sector. More than 300 scientists of national and international stature are working in the Centre.
In the programme, the Chief Minister flagged off 26 e-vehicles given by Indian Oil and planted saplings in the presence of other dignitaries. The Chief Minister also released a song called ‘Swachh Faridabad, Smart Faridabad’. Along with this, an MoU was also signed with ‘Between MCF’ and ‘Janaagraha Centre for Citizenship and Democracy’.
On this occasion, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Sh. Krishn Pal Gurjar, Transport Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma, Faridabad MLA, Sh. Narendra Gupta, Badkhal MLA Smt. Seema Trikha, Tigaon MLA Sh. Rajesh Nagar, Prithla MLA Sh. Nayan Pal Rawat and other dignitaries were present.
