Chandigarh June 2- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal has directed the officers concerned to work diligently so as to develop Panchkula into a tourism hub. He also asked them to find a permanent solution for providing drinking water in Morni area. The Chief Minister was presiding over the review meeting of Panchkula Development Plan here today. Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Sh. Gian Chand Gupta and Panchkula Mayor, Sh.Kulbhushan Goyal were also present in the meeting. The Chief Minister directed to ensure that all parameters are in place for a programme to be organised in Morni to promote adventure sports like paragliding. He said that as adventure sport like paragliding is an extreme sport, it is important to ensure formalities like life insurance of participating persons are done. He took detailed information for the programme with regard to introduction of paragliding to be organised on the occasion of International Yoga Day on June 20.
The Chief Minister said that along with this, trekking routes should be made in order to promote trekking so that the youth can easily reach the destination in the evening. The Chief Minister asked MLA of Panchkula, Sh. Gian Chand Gupta to speak to the Union Road Transport Minister with regard to connectivity of Chandigarh Airport to Panchkula so that the project can be completed at the earliest. The plan to develop Panchkula as a medical and educational hub was also discussed in the meeting. The Chief Minister also directed the Mayor of Panchkula to prepare a detailed report in this regard. He said that tourism in city will be facilitated by strong road network.
During the review meeting,the Chief Minister took detailed information from the officers and gave necessary directions for a strong network of roads connecting the places like Morni and Tikkartal etc. For this, the departments which required NOCs were asked to complete the work expeditiously. In the meeting, extensive discussions were held to strengthen the roads from Panchkula to Mandhana, Mandhana to Morni, Morni to Tikkartal and Tikkartal to Raipur Rani to facilitate the movement of tourists. The Chief Minister discussed in detail about the road connecting Ramgarh to Himachal. The detailed project report of this road will be prepared in the next 15 days.
Foundation stones for Nakshatra Vatika, Sugandha Vatika and Rashi Van to be laid on June 5
It was informed during the meeting that Nakshatra Vatika, Sugandha Vatika and Rashi Van would be established in about 20 acres along the Morni road from Panchkula to promote tourism. Plants related to all the 27 constellations will be planted in Nakshatra Vatika. Along with this, detailed information about the constellations will also be found in this garden. Fragrant plants will be planted in Sugandh Vatika. Along with this, the nearby farmers will be motivated to plant such saplings so that farmers can earn maximum profit by selling their crops in the nearby aromatic oil making industry. Similarly,plants related to all the 12 zodiac signs will be planted in Rashi Van. Detailed information about these plants and zodiac signs will also be made available to the tourists in this forest. During the meeting itself, the Chief Minister asked the officials about the plants related to the zodiac. The foundation stone of these gardens will be laid by the Chief Minister on June 5, 2021 on the occasion of Environment Day.
Directions to shift the dumping ground immediately
Taking strict cognizance of the dumping ground of Sector 23, during the discussion the Chief Minister directed to shift it to Jhuriwala with immediate effect. He said that dumping of garbage in the dumping ground of Sector 23 should be stopped immediately and it should be cleaned at the earliest. He said that any kind of negligence in this work is not tolerable. Along with this, he said that strict action should be taken while fixing the accountability of the officers for delay in this work.

Umashankar, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Dr. Amit Agrawal, Deputy Commissioner, Panchkula, Sh. Mukesh Kumar Ahuja besides other senior officers of many departments were present during the meeting.
