Chandigarh, August 5 - Haryana Cabinet which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal has approved amendment in Haryana Civil Service (Executive Branch) Rules, 2008.
As per the said Rules for Departmental Examination of Assistant Commissioners, Extra Assistant Commissioners and Candidates for the post of Extra Assistant Commissioners, earlier there were three standards of examination i.e. pass with credit (75% marks), higher standard (67% marks) and lower standard (50% marks). The Rules have been amended with notification dated January 6, 2021 and now, there are only two levels to pass the departmental examination i.e. with credit (75% marks) and pass (50% marks) and thus, there is no level of “Higher Standard” to pass the departmental examination in the said Rules of Departmental Examination for Extra Assistant Commissioner.
The matter has been considered by the State Government in pursuance of the said amendment dated January 6, 2021 for the Rules and it has been decided to delete the words “by the Higher Standard” from Rules 21 and 24 of “Rules, 2008” accordingly with effect from January 6, 2021 i.e. the date of notification of amendment in Rules.
