Chandigarh, August 31: The 40th Board meeting of National Capital Region Planning Board was held under the Chairmanship of Union Minister, Housing and Urban Affairs, Sh. Hardeep Singh Puri, from New Delhi through video conferencing today
Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal along with Chief Secretary, Sh. Vijai Vardhan and Principal Secretary Town and Country Planning also attended the meeting from Chandigarh being members of the Board.
In the meeting, various decisions were taken for coordinated development of NCR, which included inauguration of Combined Reciprocal Common Transport Agreement (CRCTA), which will facilitate free movement of vehicles within the NCR participating States. Further, the NCR Geo-Portal was also launched as an initial central database repository, which is expected to facilitate Sub-Regional and local planning in NCR.
The other issues relating to the delineation of NCR and Regional Plan-2041 were also deliberated upon in the meeting. Regarding delineation of NCR, proposals for delineation were deliberated and views of member States were sought.
Regarding Regional Plan-2041, the efforts made by the NCRPB for expeditious preparation of the documents was appreciated by the members.
The proposals of the DRP-2041 were presented by the Member Secretary, NCRPB and deliberated in detail by the participants.
Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. D. S. Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary, Irrigation and Water Resources Department, Sh. Devender Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. V. Umashankar, Director, Town and Country Planning Department, Sh. K. Makarand Pandurang and other senior officers were present.
